Our research group always recruits

to conduct cross-disciplinary research. Students with background in materials science, nanotechnology, bioengineering, mechanical/automation/robotics, physics, chemistry, biomedical engineering or related areas are welcome to apply. Students with high-quality journal publications or with related experimental or modeling experience will be advantageous.

This project seeks motivated Postdoctoral Fellows, PhD students, or Research Assistants with expertise in oscillation-based biosensing for biomedical applications. The position involves designing and developing circuitry—such as RF circuits, LRC oscillators, or magnetoelectric systems—integrated with advanced biomaterials for wireless, real-time in vivo monitoring.
Main duties include:
(a) designing and prototyping sensing circuits for implantable/injectable devices;
(b) collaborating on selection and functionalization of biomaterials for targeted molecular capture;
(c) conducting experimental validation in biological environments, and publishing research;
(d) presenting findings at conferences and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Candidates with backgrounds in circuit design or biomaterials engineering are highly preferred.

Biomedicine application of multi-scale robotics, such as non-invasive medical intervention technology, capsule endoscopic technology, implantable devices and pathogen detection.

Development of magnetic control system, algorithm and UI

Functional materials for actuation, sensing and micro-/nanorobots, such as biomaterials, hydrogels, 3D printing, soft robots and related technologies.

This project focuses on the structural design, development, and integration of automated robotic platforms for healthcare applications, including motion control and fluidic delivery systems. Other core directions include technology translation and prototype development in both medical and robotics fields. Engineers from mechanical engineering, automation, robotics, electronics, or mechatronics backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The appointee(s) will be responsible to assist the research team in:
(a) the overall structural design and optimization of mechatronic systems;
(b) designing, selecting, and debugging components for motion platforms;
(c) planning, selecting, and debugging fluidic delivery systems (e.g., pumps and piping);
(d) writing, debugging, and optimizing automation control programs for devices;
(e) assembling, testing, and refining device prototypes;
(f) collaborating with an interdisciplinary team (robotics, mechanical, electronics, and clinical professionals) to advance project development;
(g) undertaking other technical R&D tasks as assigned by the team.
Relevant experience in automation equipment R&D is preferred.

Focuses on micro-/ nanorobotics, functional nanomaterials and their biomedical applications, particularly in pathogen sensing. The group has tight collaborations with the Institute of Digestive Disease (IDD) and the Department of Microbiology of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Experience in development of biomedical device/ instrumentation and/ or related industrial experience will be advantageous.

This project aims to develop a non-invasive neurostimulation device for pain relief, which is in cooperation with Professor Matthew Chan in the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care and Professor Linda Lam and Professor Hanna Lu from the Department of Psychiatry.
The appointee(s) will work with the research team and clinical collaborators for a fast-paced, sketch-to-trial full-cycle medical device development for pain relief. The appointee(s) will be responsible for assisting the research team for
(a) device development; 
(b) evaluation of the developed device on cells and animals; and
(c) performing tests and experiments in campus and clinical sites. He/she will work collaboratively with other research staff and students in both the engineering team and the biological experiment team.
Experience in pain research, neurostimulation, development of biomedical device/instrumentation and/or related industrial experience will be advantageous.

該裝置將與香港中文大學麻醉與重症監護室的Matthew Chan教授以及精神科的Linda Lam教授和Hanna Lu教授合作開發。
研究者將與本研究組成員和臨床合作者一起完成從草圖到試驗的全週期醫療設備開發過程,負責協助研究團隊進行以下工作:

High-frequency magnetic field generation and reception 高頻磁場生成接收

This project will be conducted in cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine, CUHK. One of the core aims of the project is to build a high power magnetic pulse generator using state-of-the-art power electronics for biomedical applications, such as rehabilitation. The appointee(s) will work with the research team and clinical collaborators for a fast-paced, sketch-to-trial full-cycle medical device development.
The appointee(s) will be responsible to assist the research team for
(a) electronics design and prototyping;
(b) performing tests and experiments in campus and clinical sites; and
(c) undertaking other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the research team.
He/she will work collaboratively with other research staff and students in both the engineering team and the biological experiment team.
Good programming skills in Python and C. Experience in development of biomedical device/instrumentation and/or related industrial experience will be advantageous. 

該項目將與港中文醫學院合作進行,核心目標之一是使用電子設備來製造大功率電磁脈衝發生器用於生物醫學應用(例如康復治療)。研究者將與本研究小組成員和臨床合作者一起完成從草圖設計到試驗的全週期醫療設備開發過程。
研究者將負責協助研究團隊進行以下工作:
(a) 電子設計和原型機的建造;
(b) 實驗室及臨床環境進行測試和實驗;及
(c) 承擔研究小組分配的其他(臨時)任務。
具備Python和C語言的良好編程技能或具有生物醫學設備/儀器開發經驗和/或相關行業經驗者優先。

Good communication skills and the ability to work independently. 具備良好的溝通能力和獨立工作思考的能力。
